CHECKLIST  for  RISKS

A checklist is one of the best friends a Professional Project Manager can have. To Identify Risks, you want to remember all the Risks dealt with in your previous projects. That trusty checklist never forgets!

A Checklist for Risks is that list of things which can go wrong. When learning to fly an aeroplane I learned to think ahead of the things that could go wrong, and be prepared in advance. This was my Checklist for Risks.

As a Professional Project Manager, start your own checklist. Began with a list of things gone wrong in previous projects. (We all have them!) As you Identify Risks, add to your Risk Checklist from every new project.

Your Checklist will likely never contain all possible Risks, so remember to also use other methods of Risk Identification like Brainstorming, which helps engage your Stakeholders too!
